The mood is right, an example is available. This is just convenient for me to talk about now. The rich expands their space in every sense of the word. It is legal or over time they will arranged for it to be. Often they don't even need to do anything. Those who eager to serve them for a profit would get it fixed. Some of it might not be just or moral but you can get away as long as it is legal. The latest example was AIM-Gate.
The rich don't even notice they are doing what I just described. So innocuous to them. What's the matter? They say, "I haven't done anything wrong"
However the squeeze hits Singapore faster than elsewhere because we are one of the tiniest states in the world. Unfortunately our leaders do not understand and to add insult to injury even used to call us spoilt. They weren't dare now but I am sure they still do in private. Non verbal communication is louder than what can be heard. The attitude always find a way to show up and often at the most inconvenient moments.
In the present form, COEs will exact a significant political cost. So they have to act now. They are badly behind the curve. In fact any policy that is outdated reflects their priorities or lack of.
So many things to fix and so little time.
