Haze: Indonesia renting Russian Choppers

The haze problem has been Indonesia latest humiliation. There is no need for us to add to that but on the other hand with their chip on the shoulder it is just too easy for them to feel slighted by our media reports regardless of how careful we are.

Pride is an expensive commodity but that is just stating the obvious. Don't we all have experience learning its true cost the hard way? The Indonesians would not accept help from Malaysia or us. They will pay for the resources: Russian Kamov helicopters to water bomb the fires. The specs look impressive. They are finally pulling out all stops to arrest the haze.

After this devastating episode, a repeat visit of haze is probably unlike for at least a few years. I also hope they successfully prosecute the offending firms. I don't wish to see my speculative excess on this matter become reality.
