Xi Jinping and the Chinese Impatience

For a long time I could not understand why the Chinese have gone stupid trying to take on everyone on the issue of the South China Sea.

Yesterday while waiting for lunch to arrive, I came across this article. Now I think I get it but with such matters you always need to be open minded especially with the inscrutable Chinese.

Just as with America and the erstwhile Soviet Union it is in China's interest to be able to project military power beyond its borders, but to ensure success they ought to still stick with Deng's advice to lie low.

But Xi Jinping and too many Chinese are in a hurry. Their impatience allows Xi to reorganize the military for his personal benefit just like Jiang had also won himself many loyal generals by overseeing their promotions before.

This is not good for China. Really, she ought to be much more patient. For this, who knows like Japan before, China could eventually shoot its own foot.
