ST growing habit of sloppy work

The ST is getting from bad to worse. Over time I find that I have to read them with growing care and I bet I have often gone away getting the wrong impression without knowing until they print something which upsets you and you read more closely.
In this article on the WCS, the ST has done nobody any favors. Obviously the two writers and their editors don't understand the WCS. The journalists fail to insert a line that the WCS is a subsidy which employers must pay out to their workers first. The government will reimburse you the 40% of the pay increase for those eanring 4K or less. Without explaining this it makes the MP Yeo Guat Kwang looks bad. It painted the companies receiving the money as greedy, pocketing the money meant for workers for other business use, but there are some companies less egregious, which seemingly do not give it out as pay rise but use it for workers training and development.
It makes the government look like a fool with such a policy many companies are easily and happily gaming.
I recall I had an earlier post about them under pressure to keep up financial performance, they have too few people working on tighter deadlines with insufficient resources so that they are taking short cuts and chances. The result is a paper that is often full of mistakes and now misreporting too. China's People's Daily can get away as bad paper, I don't think ST enjoys the same slack. And please don't say you are better than the NYT, that is just embarrassing.
