We need an ‘Evil Plan’ to foil our own leaders

I saw this coming in 1995 but unlike some people, my "evil plan" hasn't succeeded. This is the Introduction to Hugh McLeod, "Evil Plans: Having Fun on the Road to World Domination" I found it from an article by Paul Farrell, "We need an ‘Evil Plan’ to foil our own leaders"

I am avoiding the details, but some of us can feel that Singapore is heading towards a tipping point. There is danger in that moment, and it cannot be avoided. Tony Tan must have felt it keenly. That is why he is pondering whether to stand for the Presidential Elections as reported in the ST today. There is no hint that Tan Cheng Bock and Tan Kin Lian grasp this. The other guys who have good grasp of it are George Yeo and Tharman. I must also add many countless and nameless faces including myself. We need the numbers, but against the entire population, we are still a small group.

That got me thinking about Mubarak, Kadhafi, Assad and other Arab dictators. They resent the Arab masses for not “staying in their place,” hate them for demonstrating, demanding, rebelling against their dictator’s iron-fisted “rightful” rule. Yes, when the masses rise up, leaders see anyone who wants freedom as a traitor, anyone resisting authority is guided by an “Evil Plan.” And from Libya to Syria, leaders who believe they rule by a divine right also have the right to shoot anyone resisting their authority.
