Lee Kuan Yew versus Low Thia Khiang

Page A5 in the ST today, I found this. You can count on the MM to dispense with the bull. Of course he is right but not on the money.

Until such a time, but for now, the aims and the path forged by the WP are aligned with Singapore's interests. The PAP had enjoyed such times before, especially at the beginning and had made it endured for quite a while.

Children will be as they are. You don't want them fail but you must give them the opportunity to learn some lessons that can only be learned the hard way. We had forgotten that we were also like them. If we stop them, and they take on bigger risks than necessary to learn those lessons, we are indeed most unwise. It is here which the MM has failed. I saw in coming when the folks buying up his books were mostly older people. Many of his arguments in the book were not convincing to this group either.

  1. Someone shut the old man up please. He has already caused the good MP and Minister George Yeo to lose Aljunied. If he goes on like this, the PAP is doomed and so is Singapore.

  2. When an old man like him starts to utter nonsense, it's about time for him to rest in peace.

The Chinese believe 回光反照 is a sign to tell the younger generation to prepare for the worst.

  3. A son should never consider his father as a liability and should always take good care of him at all cost. A true leader will sacrifice himself and his family for the sake of the people. To be a good son or a true leader..the choice is yours good sir

  4. Come on, the old man is becoming senile, everyone knows that. He is still living in the past, and soon one day he will start his old crap of labelling everyone a communist, forgettting that there are no more true communist around, except in his decaying mind.

  5. It is the responsibility of the leader of the country to remove anyone who is clearly destroying the morale of the people by uttering and acting in an injudicious manner.

  6. He's had a walkover, didn't he? Now, if that hasn't gotten him the moral right to shoot his mouth off...
His son will install him again in the sinecure for more forecasts, which will hasten the decline of the PAP. That is not a bad thing seeing how they have insisted that the alternative parties play on an uneven playing field by the rules set by the PAP unfairly (though legally). Do not equate the PAP with Singapore. The impending doom of the PAP is not bad for Singapore as they are already scrapping the bottom of the barrel to find their best candidates for the just concluded GE. I dread to think where their so called 4th gen leaders will lead Singapore to, when money could not entice the best to join them.
