Getting fired is worse than divorce or the death of a spouse

Why Getting Fired Is Worse Than Divorce or the Death of a Spouse. Broken hearts heal. A blotch on the resume is harder to repair went the Bloomberg version of the article which the ST one was taken from.

If so, I think your priorities are totally warped and you are simply pathetic.

The results of the study is based off the British experience. I hope this is not true here and in this instance the high levels of disengagement at work may not be a bad thing. It is something we need to fix as taken over the long term the economic damage would be serious and intractable.

  1. It took me a short moment to figure out what you meant by "here". Originally I assumed you meant " here in this text/study." Which didn't really make any sense. Then, extrapolating from the reference to Britain, I assume you mean "here in America." Which brings forward the issue. I'm in Canada. And there's 6.7 billion people on the planet who aren't "here in America." Which is why you should use the distinction.
Further, loss of job really depends on the economic climate, culture, and career path. A career, depending on one's circumstances, may be one's whole identity and rung of hierarchy in society. Further, one's spouse might be a total jerk. So everthing is relative.
Getting fired from McDonald's when you're 16 is probably not the same as getting from from a University professor position at age 52.
    Some thoughts.
