We regularly and systematically deceive ourselves. We indulge in fairy tales even if we already know they cannot be true. This infection exists also in democratic politics which could lead to freak outcomes. We are imperfect and yet we yearn for perfection ignoring the fact that we actually have no idea what perfection is. Disabused of notions of utopia, we deny them publicly but privately we indulge its more limited forms. Just watch how the youngsters fail to settle for the perfect mate, conveniently forgetting how imperfect they themselves are. Perfection is a work in progress!
In trading we look for a system that is good for all seasons. That is impossible. This is the first time I come across something honest and sensible about trading systems. Most of us are suckers but we are in denial. No problem, just hand over the money then!
