Children for sale

I just received lots of old photos from my friend. She had been a crossing lady for an elementary school in NJ for a very long time. If I am not wrong even before I was born!

Among the many photos this one kept me staring at it for a while. The caption read, "Children for sale in Chicago, 1948". Reason? Poverty.

Sad isn't it? So what if you are the Superpower. Every society has cracks to fall through.
