Buying Post Cereal: Valu$ vs Auric Pacific

I was curious when I passed a Valu$ shop yesterday and decided to go in to have a look. I found our cereal for $4.95 which usually cost more than $7 at the super mart. The only difference between the two is Auric Pacific. The guy in the middle really take a really fat margin for this one.

I am going to be more regular at Valu$

Isn't Saw Phaik Hwa now running Auric Pacific? I think the less you do with her the better. She pays herself first without conscience or remorse. What is worse than immoral is to be amoral.

  2. Valu$ has MORE THAN that kind of crazy prices, take a lookie here:
Kopiko LA (Low Acid) 3-in-1 Instant Coffee:
    Supermarkets: $5.30 - $6.20 for pack of 24g x 24 packs (from official importer)
Valu$/ABC: $3.95 for pack of 20g x 30 packs (parallel from Indonesian Producer)
    Lay's Potato Chips Assorted:
Supermarkets: $4.25 - $4.50 per pack of 184.2g (from official importer Diethelm-Keller (DKSH), advantage being the March Exchange Offer (with 2 sticker labels) applicable to DKSH-imported versions only)
Valu$/ABC: $2.95 per pack of same weight (parallel import from USA)
If you want to get the best of both worlds, try getting the Lay's from Ang Mo Supermarket instead. They sell them at $3.45 each and is from the official importer so is also applicable for the Exchange Offer every March as well.
Moral of Story: If you only think of only buying from the Big Three Supers (Fairprice, Dairy Farm, Sheng Siong), you're likely to be propaganda-intoxicated. Go out and look around for better deals before it's too little, too late. You'll NEVER regret it!
