No fun setting up Fiber Broadband

Not that fun setting up our new 200Mbps fiber broadband connection.

First, after the tech left my connection failed to work. All status lights were fine. POTS was working suggesting too that "all is well". After many call backs from M1 tech support they realized that the problem was the MAC table on their end which is why a valide IP address never appeared on my adapter. They just needed to refresh that. Wasted one whole afternoon.

Now I still have a SSID visibility problem. Somehow the SSID on 2.4Ghz was visible to all the PCs but not the 5Ghz one. All our smartphones and iPads have no problem picking up the SSID for the 5Ghz band. The exception was wifey's Asus Memopad HD7. I am using the Asus RT-AC66U. Finally gave up and sent a support request form to Asustek.

On the other hand the speed is as promised.
