Boy, 7, is his nearly blind granny's eyes

Bear this in mind. This is what the grandmother said:

"But I will continue to sell newspapers. I'm sure people around my stall will help me.
"I don't want to go to an old folks' home or elderly centre. I want to be independent," she said.

Because often do gooders assume they know what those who they help want.

Don't mix up doing good with real charity, I mean charity in the old fashioned sense.
