Desktop PC: Blue Screen of Death

Early morning greeting from my PC: The infamous blue screen of death.

I disconnected the external drive, restart it and it is OK.

My guess? Memory and/or motherboard problem, but the board was changed a few months ago.

Book: The Luck Factor

I have finished about 80% of this book which was first published in 1977. It is worth it. Afterward I must revisit Gladwell's, "Blink" again and compare the two.

Sentosa Boardwalk

Usually on the first day of the CNY we would be visiting relatives. This year we make our maiden trip to the recently opened Sentosa Boardwalk instead.

There were many foreigners there. I guessed it is because they do not have their families here to visit. Anyway many of them weren't Chinese too.

We didn't pay the $1 to get into Sentosa. We walked back to Vivocity and had lunch.

Visiting River Hong Bao after more than 20 years

Haven't been to River Hong Bao in more than 20 years I think. The last time I visited it was still organized at Boat Quay. I think it was more colorful and festive then. There were many stalls and they were brightly lighted. Now it is full of pricey but cheap looking rides.

Rabbit candy, Year of the Rabbit

Took two photos off the web and turned them into a Rabbit year greeting for this CNY yesterday.

The rabbit candy, which I have not eaten for many years were among our favorites when we were kids. Come CNY, we have the liberty to eat as many as we want.

My daughter's Physics Teacher

The hong pao from my elder girl Physics teacher. A wonderful teacher and from what I often hear of how he has been conducting his classes, I can only imagine that he must spend most of his time thinking about how to teach his charges better. He could well be the secondary school equivalent for the Physics for Presidents lectures by the Berkeley prof.

He had also once prepared Milo for the girls when extra lesson were conducted and the students supposedly would have missed lunch.

Rediscovering an old favorite

I first heard this song many years ago sung by the Imperials in a cassette. I have lost the cassette through wear and tear. Today a new friend posted it on her Facebook page and after a little research, I found a version a I prefer.

These guys sang this song and recall how the Lord had walked with them. All of us are disobedient first and how God remained patient and never gave up on us. There would not be the need for tears otherwise.
