Ng Kok Khim in the hawker centre cleaning spat

Thanks to TRE for uncovering this. I believe many of us are tired of this unending spat but with evidence like this we need to return once more.

Mr. Ng Kok Khim is the Chairman of the Blk 538 Market Association is also a PAP member and PA grassroot leader. Very curious isn't it?

Such people are only serving to take us to new depths of cynicism.

And someone better informed and following this more closely put it best.

Vladimir Tepes Sylvia LimVivian Balakrishnan: I am very perturbed by this news. It appears that a certain ng kok khim, supposedly the Chairman of the Blk 538 Market Association, has called for a quotation for ATL Maintenance to carry out high level cleaning without going through the AHPETC. This dovetails nicely with what Ms. Sylvia Lim has said.

While I'm very sure that mr. ng must have had very good reasons for doing so, nonetheless it is very troubling that he did not come forward to clarify the issue and instead allowed it to be blown out of all proportion.

I believe you when you said that the NEA and the hawkers are honest people. That being the case, can you get mr. ng to clear this matter up? I'm sure you'll have no problems getting him to do it since he's a pap grassroots leader. It's distracting you and the NEA from far more pressing issues like the current dengue epidemic.

Update: 5pm

Wah Lao! Just realized so many people come see this post. Now I am waiting for MDA to issue me a take down notice. LOL!

Update: 9:35pm

Excellent infographic here giving a bird's eye view of the issue. Unlike me blogging only for myself and family, these are the good people who blogs for all of us.

    1. He is related to a stall at Blk 539. This should not be another hawker centre. So can also be a hawker at Blk 538? Very unlikely.

  5. wow! Excellent and unselfish detective work. You have basically performed a public duty! It strikes me as highly unprofessional for the top brass at NEA and a Cabinet Minister at that casting stones at the ALHTC people whom I verily believe are also honest people trying to do a difficult job in a once-PAP stranglehold err I mean stronghold!Let the truth be out and let the public decide. Sheep is found only in NZ; please!

  6. yes you will garner many reads just like how WP garner people to their rally from all over singapore. This is in stark contrast to how PAP ferry people from all over singapore to their rally. Like what slyvia said, let the people judge. VBK is just on the waiting list to be offically sent off

  7. This is how they "fix" the opposition. BTW, did the PAP MPs apologies to the people for losing millions. What a freaking maron

  8. In the Dec 26 email communication between the town council's Mr Pradeep and NEA's Ms Chin, the Hawker Association Chairman was referred to as Mr Tan - when did Ng become Chairman and what happened to Mr Tan?

  9. Mr Ng should be interviewed as to his role and involvement in the whole issue!

  10. Shl sue them to expose everything

  11. Most of the PAP MPs are wankers hanging on to their positions just for the money they are paid. Unfortunately this is Singapore today....all of them "ball carriers".

"Mr Ng Kok Khim, the honorary advisor and immediate past Chairman
of Block 538 Hawkers Association, received a quotation for $7200 by hand from
AHPETC’s contractor, ATL Maintenance Pte Ltd for the scope of work which
includes the “provision of manpower, equipments, materials, chemicals, insurance
and supervision for the cleaning of the entire premises…”
This quotation was irregular in several respects. First, the hawkers had never asked
for it. There was absolutely no reason for them to do so given the longstanding
arrangements and legitimate expectation that all costs for comprehensive cleaning
would be fully borne by the Town Council. Second, ATL Maintenance Pte Ltd is
AHPETC’s contractor, and according to Ms Sylvia Lim, had a prior contract to do the
same scope of work paid for by the Town Council. This would therefore be
tantamount to an attempt to double charge for the same scope of work. Third, the
scope of work goes far beyond merely the erection of scaffolding. Hence, this could
not have arisen simply because AHPETC was confused about the scope of work
needed. Consequently, the quotation was quite rightly rejected by the hawkers."

What's crap is TRE taking this and making it into a political situation when it's more of a procedural one.
