IT Show move to MBS a disappointment

Wasted my time at IT Show 2013 and I made sure to warn some of my friends not to go when I got back.

I was looking to buy the Canon Powershot S110 for my daughter but all the leading camera brands were not represented this time.

Almost one third of the exhibition space were taken by the telcos. There were numerous financial institutions too with ANZ and Citi having really large booths.

I was hoping to locate and buy more printer ink from SEPOM but they were no where to be found.

If you are looking to buy Notebooks, PCs, printers, memory cards, GPS, PC displays I think your needs will be met.

The move from Suntec City to MBS is to me and I believe for many a failure because the camera booths were always the most popular. I wonder what is the backstory to this. At least I got to meet up with wifey for lunch and the set meal at Don Pie was good.

The chicken pie was tasty and the fillings were generous with chicken pieces and eggs. Wifey found the lime juice too sour but I liked it that way. Reminded me of those at Rendezvous Nasi Pandang.

Update: March 10, 8:45pm

Took this off the IT Show Facebook page. I am not alone in feeling about this 2013 Show.

Found more earlier ones. Too noteworthy to leave out.

  • Ah Huat Yeo in conclusion, MBS is NOT an ideal spot for MASS CONSUMER EVENT ... plus to paraphrase Dick Lee from Singapore Idol, "IT Show is getting worserer and worserer with each year. It is supposed to be IT show with plenty of Gadgets, but now became Credit Card roadshow.

  • Eric Lim I really hope that the COMEX will not be held in MBS! Pain of the ass to get there. At 9pm sharp, all doors start to close and people are not allow to go in. 9pm! Its FRIDAY! Why do you want to close at 9PM? and at SHARP timing. For people who knock off at 6pm, after they get off work, went for dinner elsewhere (since MBS is freaking ex place to eat) and reach the location around 7pm to 7.30pm, they only got less than 2hour to walk around and buy things. And only to be stop by the over zealous security guard from continuing their shopping. Worst, in basement 2, when i was inside the hall, they close all the door at 9pm. If there is a fire breakout and people want to get out, i think they will be damn confuse as why is the freaking door close! When the guards stop people from going into the hall, there are still tons of people inside there walking around shopping.I never experience that in Suntec before. Maybe it is MBS first time having a IT Show that they dunno what to expect. but it sure is a turn off....
